Everything happens for a reason, and sometimes not
Sometimes it is what it is and we got what we got
They’re saying “He won’t give more than you can handle”
But I don’t see that in the Book
Still “God is in control and He’ll work it out for good”
But sometimes I get tired of cliches ‘cause I need You to come and fix this today
Pick me up out of this mess still in the making, salvage this impossible situation
But rather than rescue, You walk with me through it
And even though I know that You could do it
I trust You anyway, even if it’s cliché, I trust You anyway
“If God closes a door, He’ll open a window” but what happens if the window’s closed too?
“Did you pray? Do you have enough faith?” “Maybe it’s just a mysterious way”
They “can’t imagine” but it’s “all in God’s plan”
I didn’t sign up to follow Jesus just to get what I want
That isn’t what I was thinking when I was on my face in front of the cross
It was how could I not give my life as worship to the God who made the stars?
How could I not trust You to handle taking care of my fragile heart?
How could I think that I could comprehend why things are the way they are?
But what I know for sure is You’re the best one to be in charge
So even if I never understand,
